Spring Trip to the Mile High Marketplace - Denver, CO

Had a Great Time visiting the Mile High Marketplace in Denver, CO (Commerce City really). When you are from a small mostly farming community it is a real treat (at least for me) to get a chance to experience a major cultural conglomeration. The variety you find at this place is amazing and the of course, the photo ops are Awesome.   All of these pictures were taken  with my trusty Canon 60D.  I think the little lady with the red dress in the box is my favorite...   Please comment!   Enjoy!

A Trip to Taos, NM With My Daughter

It had been a long time coming, but it finally did happen. My daughter and I were able to make a trip to Taos, New Mexico recently to get a chance to catch up with each other and to share some quality father/daughter time and to experience some of the magic that the Taos area has to offer.   In this area there is the art, the light, the food, the craftsmanship, the mystical and the religious plus a few other fun and interesting traits and qualities that make this such a fun place to visit.   The lizard and the yarn pictures were taken outside of a couple of the wonderful and varied shops and galleries that are near the Plaza downtown. The fossil fern picture was take at a labyrinth on the southern outskirts of Taos that we had the pleasure to walk and reflect. The ragged prayers flags were shot at the Kagyu Mila Guru Stupa just north of Questa, NM. What a beautiful place!

This is the first chance I got to play with my new Canon 60D and I had so much fun with it. I will be posting more pictures from our trip in the near future.

A Walk in the Woods 1

Fall is in full swing here in southeast Colorado and I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to do a little walking in the woods with a friend of mine. We had been trying to get out and take some pictures together for some time now but life just seemed to keep getting in the way. It must have been for a reason as we finally did get our chance to get out and what a wonderful day it was for a walk in the woods

Bent's Old Fort on the Sante Fe Trail - Part 3 of 3

Known as the "Castle of the Plains", Bent's Old Fort is now a National Historic Site and features a reconstructed 1840's adobe fur trading post on the mountain branch of the Santa Fe Trail. This is where traders, trappers, travelers, and Plains Indian tribes came together to do trade.   This is the last installment of the Bent's Fort Photo Series. I hope you have enjoyed it.   Bent's Old Fort is a place I will come back to many times for many reasons, and who knows, maybe you will even see some more pictures.   Thanks to Eric for the idea to use some B&W.
